Molds and Tooling

Our capabilities focus on providing the engineering power and know-how to tackle the most technical of projects, while providing the manufacturing expertise to precisely build and deliver what has been engineered. Compression Molds

While compression molding is often considered the most ‘basic’ processing method, it can be used in many forms. We can build all types of compression molds, from simple 2-plate cut-in-solid designs to be inserted, hardened tooling with spring loaded ‘pre-clamping’ features for overmolding metal inserts and producing parts with minimal waste.

Trimless/Flashless Molds

Our history is rooted in the design and construction of rubber molds that can produce parts within a specified flash tolerance coming directly from the mold. Historically, this was accomplished using primarily transfer molding and ITM (injection-transfer molding) processes, but has evolved into injection molding applications also. In some cases, this allows parts to be shipped directly from the molding machine, without secondary finishing processes, so that parts can be quickly cleaned and tumbled while preserving delicate edges or features. In all cases, the methodology serves lean manufacturing methods by reducing material waste and working to eliminate process steps.

Rubber Injection Molds

Advancements in injection molding equipment have provided many opportunities for retooling existing products and producing new products in a very efficient and cost effective manner. Automation capabilities and the control the product quality using current technologies are better than ever. Injection Molds can be paired with open nozzle or valve-gated Cold Runner Systems to provide excellent solutions for molding high-volume parts at minimal cost

Molds for LSR/Liquid Silicone

As the LSR market has continued to grow, we have workded to combine our knowledge of injection molds and trimless/flashless rubber molds into concepts that translate forward to high quality LSR molding applications. We can design and build the cold runner systems and molds to produce LSR parts of varying complexities, and can also trial the tooling at our facility prior to shipment.

Auxiliary Equipment

Many rubber molding applications involve bonding elastomer materials to a metal insert or thermoplastic piece. We have developed capabilities to design and build plastic injection molds and trial those tools also — providing a one source option for ‘composite part’ applications. We also work extensively with the equipment needed to make molding systems work well — loading jigs, knockout plates, lift plates, and table assemblies. Our goal is always to provide quality solutions using a well-designed process — which produces quality molded products.

Plastic Injection Molds

Many of today’s complex assemblies involve multiple tools, processes, and materials.  Our background in designing, building, and sampling plastic injection molds affords our customers the capability of a ‘one-stop’ solution.  We can handle the thermoplastic tool AND the overmold tooling, and assist our customers in working out processing issues, compound issues, and bonding issues BEFORE the tooling leaves our facility.  This saves engineering time and equipment time at our customers’ facilities and allows for faster startup and improves the overall project timeline.
